Artist interview
How did your dream kick off?
Who is your inspiration in music? Who do you look up to?
Being a part of an Asian family how are you motivated to make your own music?
How do you handle those who criticise your music?
In all honestly I take it with a pinch of salt. It does not bother me in the slightest way. There's a saying which states: you can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.
Where do you aim to be in a few years time?To be honest I don't like to plan too far ahead just due to how unpredictable the future can be. I just hope I can be an established artist whose music gets better and the support becomes bigger.
What matters most to you the support or fame? The support without a shadow of a doubt. Fame is not something I make music for. I make music because it helps me express my emotions in different ways.
Has music always been your main priority or is there something else you thought you would be doing?
In what ways are you trying to keep your dream alive?Right now I'm just writing lyrics every other day, improving my flow, getting my songs out there and establishing myself as an artist. The internet is the biggest avenue in which my music has taken off and I hope to maintain and surpass my music even further.
Music has always been a hobby and truth be told it still is. Right now I'm not in a position where I'm prepared to sacrifice what I've got in order to gain a musical career. Main priorities right now are family and education.
I guess the challenges and obstacles I face as an Asian motivate and influence me to write. I actually live in a predominately white area and have suffered racism face to face. Being a Muslim, I see certain things portrayed in the media which I know are not right. I attack all these problems through the avenue of music and hope I can make a positive change.
My experiences in life and the people within my life are my biggest inspiration in music. There are so many artists I look up to. If I had to pick three I'd say Jay Sean, Eminem and Drake.
I use to always write lyrics on whatever I could find, but I didn't have any access to a studio or any kind of musical equipment. This all changed when a friend of mine introduced me to a guy called K2. K2 had a studio in his house and invited me to record at his place. From then on the rest is history as they say.

My final product: Double page spread
The same colour scheme has been used, i chose to put the picture on the right and the article on the right because in most magazines this is how a double page spread is layed out.
My final product: Contents page
For my content page i have used the same colour scheme. Also I have used clumns and have used 3 pictures for my contents page.
My final product: Front cover
For my front cover i chose
to lay it out this way because it look more appealing to the audience. The colour scheme for this is Black, Gold, Grey. I chose these colours because these colours make my magazine stand out. For my picture i have used a medium close up on my model and also i have made the model towards the camera. This catches the customers attention. I have also included features such as tagline, selling line, teasers, competition button, date of issue, barcode and price

Flat Plan Analysis: Double Page Spread
My double page spread shows that the picture of the main artist will be located on the left page but the backgrund of the picture will be used also as the background of the double page spread and the background will start to slowly becomeblury and fade away i am using this effect because this will show that the artist that is being is basically coming from nowhere this showing the the blury part of the background then the more clear parts show the how the artist is making a name for himself.
The artist is going to be seen sitting on a park bench looking away from the lens of the camera. The artist is going to be wearing a bright colour shirt soit stands out.
As you can see the heading for this page is shown to be using the same colour as the previous headings of the magazine
Flat Plan Analysis: Contents Page
My contents Page has used the same colour scheme as the front cover because i want the ame theme to carry out through out the whole magazine.
The heading for the contents page 'CONTENTS' is in the colour red going across a black strip just like the masthead on the front cover.
The page references are shown not 2 be in line but ive changed the layout and they are going to be set in labels with on the right hand side teasers goin along side ways.
Flat Plan Analysis: Front cover
My front cover shows a Masthead in block capitals and in the colour red going across a black strip. This shows that te magazine is aimed for and grime audiences because red showing the brightside of the music and black showing the darkside in the genres of music such as of grime and hip hop.
Ive included Teasers on the front cover of the magazine such as 'poters' because ths attracts the readers to buy the magazine. I have also added teasers such as 'EXCLUSIVE' in capitals therefore having grab the readers attention and making them read on, Lastly i have also added a circle on to my front cover offering consumers to buy the magazine and be in wit a chance to win something big.
The picture im gonna use for my front cover is goin to be of the main artist that i being used for the interview in the article on the double page spread. The artist used for the image will be leaning against a brick wall with his angle of gaze straight into the lens of the camera.

Contents Page Analysis
Colour: The colours used for the contents page are light brown, black and red mainly. the effects of this are that the background is shown to have a dull light brown which makes the contents page look like a scrap book and then having bold text in black colour as the title of the reference and then the colour black in lower case to give more information about the reference. Also the colour red is used for the numbers of the reference pages.
Layout: The layout of the contents page is shown by two pictures one at the bottom of the page and one at the top of the page. Furthermore the layout shows that the contents of the magazine is in column blocks so therefore this shows that each reference is seperate and provides a different story/article. The layout links to every feature of the contents page because the colour of the page numbers links to the picture of Birdman. This showing that Birdman is wearing Red and the Numbers on the contents is the colour red aswell.#
Image: The image on the contents page shows two of the artist from the focused group of the magazine 'Young Money'. The images represent the lifestyle of 'Young Money'm and also the images link to the features on the contents page because the clothing colours of the images match the colours used on the contents. This keeping the flow of the magazine at one pace rather than a splash of different colours representing different features.
Text: The Text in this contents page Shows specific information to a different type of artist belonging to the same record label. The text colours used are Bold and black used to show a title for the article and then lower case black to give information about the article chosen. The text also links to the images because the images have black in them and therefore the colour of the text links to the images.
The above elements successfully create continuity with the cover of DPs because the contents page attracts readers by showin one picture that is used up on all of the contents page. Also the references are giving in columns at the bottom of the page and this will atract readers because they would be attracted to the image.

Contents Page Analysis
Colour : The colour used for the contents page is black and white mainly. The effect of this is shown by the background having black and dark shades and then the white writing of the contents over the black background. Also the colour of red is used for the full stops after a piece of writing. This shows that there is a brightside to the magazine contrasting from the dull colours of black and white used.
Layout: The layout of the contents page is shown by one image taking up the whole content page where the artist in the picture is wearing black and grey and is shown next to a background which has the colour grey all over it. Also it shows the text towards the bottom of the page where the text is in columns rather than taking over the whole page and the colour of the text is white.
Image: The image on the contents page shows the artist woka flocka flame posing straight at the camera. Woka is shown to be wearing a black jacket with a grey jumper and white shirt and is to be seen posing holding up his necklace and acting like he is taking a picture, with one showing that he is looking straight at the camera.
Text: The text in the contents page shows that there is not alot of information on other topics in this magazine because the page refrences in the contents page refer to some articles in the magazine and mostly photography and advertiements. The text colour is shown to be white because it over laps the dark shades inthe background of the image used.
The above elements successfully create continuity with the cover of DPs because the contents page attracts readers by showin one picture that is used up on all of the contents page. Also the references are giving in columns at the bottom of the page and this will atract readers because they would be attracted to the image.
